Those numbers will continue to rise until the wars cease. The only thing that can bring a recovery to any of these people short of the end is a time of peace.
Wow. We are so wasteful. I'm no tree hugger, but man these photos are telling.Eventually..we're going to run out of *****.

While Singapore has a large population of Muslims (about 700,000 population), it is far from the largest. Indonesia, for instance, has over 200 million Muslim population.?
First off, none of you were screaming this during Bush's tenure. I'm going to all you out on that. The only time you guys ever even poked your head out of your holes is when Ron Paul was running, and that was about 7 years in.Secondly, much of the deficit of this year is not from Obama's legislation. The bailout was during Bush's era, and that accounted for a large portion of the deficit this year.Next, the stimulus plan did indeed cost a great deal, but the fact is it has done a great deal. States were looking down the barrel of a gun, and this more or less saved thousands of state jobs. There are some problems that it can't fix (eg. California), but without it, there'd probably be a few million more out of work. Also, while no one talks about it, the GM and Chrysler bailouts saved probably around 2.6 million jobs or so. When it looked like they would fail people were talking about 3 million people to lose their jobs, and yet only around 400,000 or so lost their jobs. While no one brings this up, I conider that a couple million jobs saved. The unemployment rate did not reach 10.2 percent because of the stimulus plan as nihil states, rather it got there in spite of it. Had we not had the stimulus plans, and even the bailouts, unemployment would probably be closer to 20% than 10%. Add 2.6 million to jobless now, as well as all the government workers who would have lost their jobs. Now, onto the healthcare bill. The CBO has scored the house bill as saving billions over 10 years. It doesn't cost the government a penny in debt, rather it will cut costs. You look at the price tag, but not at the ways they are paying for it.So, let's see, Obama is following sound advice of spending to end a recession (many economists are pissed off the stimulus didn't have more aid to states), even if it raises the debt. So he's stuck between a rock and a hard place and all you guys want to do is bitch and whine about how he should have never gotten stuck there in the first place. The problem is, by taking the job of the president he got stuck there from the get go.Lastly, President Obama has set up many of his major spending programs in the first year. The stimulus is paid for, the bailouts are done, that's about 1.5 billion you can chop off the deficit right there. If we finally cut down the bloated military budget perhaps it will come down even more. |

I currently live in Huntington, WV, which is considered the fattest city in America. As someone who has seen how awful it is firsthand, I really hope the rest of the country doesn't fall into the same trend. Seeing so many fat people all the time is incredibly depressing, and it just ruins the atmosphere of the town.
