@CrazedChemist -- that's exactly the point. I'm not worrying about, looking for, or expecting duplicate comments. When I read the comments here I expect to see people say different things. The reddit/digg communities are reasonably different (as different as two nerd communities can be) so it's nice to see how they react independently to the same thing.That's why it's annoying when people copy comments from another website. Is having an original thought *really* so difficult?.
Are you guys for real?How can you expect anyone else in the world to trust the US as a global superpower if you don't do the right thing in your own country?I understand the anger & emotion, but if a US citizen was captured in another country, the US would expect them to receive a fair trial, without which you would be here writing how bad the other country is, how they should have US justice, etc. Then & only then would the verdict & punishment be acceptable.!

Their estate is not responsible. Any incurred debt is not shared.Basically any company that were to actually try and sue living relatives for money owed by a dead person gets insane public backlash, so they never do it.Even if it were to legally come down to it, the wife did not rack up the debt and is not responsible, so she does not get penalized. These things generally get thrown out.
