| Here's why it's better: Rather than using public funds to spend $161,000 on a low probability attempt to prolong someone's life by a couple months, that money would have been spent on lower cost, higher return procedures and care. Economics is all about allocating resources to the places they can do the most good. Since we can't spend infinite funds on medical care, it makes sense to prioritize the stuff that works and results in the longest extension of life. Of course, if someone wants to spend their own money on experiment care, I have no problem with that. |

One time I jumped a curb on my bike. It was pretty cool
Tarantino appreciates Sergio Leone, which means he has taste. But Tarantino has never done anything even approaching "Once Upon A Time in the West". Tarantino knows all the camera tricks, and he is better than most directors out there, but he does not have the depth to tell a story, to create art. Pulp Fiction was very entertaining, but in the end it is nothing more than a middle-brow movie with the same depth as a Larry the Cable guy movie. The best movie Tarantino ever made was Jackie Brown. Tarantino may have a mastery of craft, but so does Steven Spielberg. They don't have anything to say.Almodovar I've only seen two movies by. He's transgressive, which is good, I'm not sure what anyone outside of Spain gets out of his movies. I don't even find them entertaining.

FTA (since none of you seen to have bothered to read it):"Bradshaw carried the girl to the living room and told her she was going to jail, according to the report. The girl was violently kicking, the report said, and struck Bradshaw in the groin with her legs and feet."The officer *had* restrained her, as he was carrying her out of the house. At this point, she was resisting both her mother's commands, as well as a police officer's orders. THEN, this sweet and innocent child... who was under police orders to go to a youth shelter... kicks a cop in the nads.Tell me this, dear readers (males only, please): if you are in the position where, as a duly authorized law enforcement officer, the person you are supposed to be removing from a scene kicks you in the nuts, what would you do? Would you allow them to continue assaulting you and the family jewels, or would you use the tools at your disposal to protect yourself and force compliance from the combatant? This isn't a case of a kid throwing spitballs in class, this is a kid who was ordered over into state custody, and was actively resisting and ASSAULTING a police officer..
And > ....(what a non pedo age to use? 18? 16? 17 ? yeah that works in most societies) 17!

If I want to ditch a modern website and get that 1998 feeling from a newsite I can just go to Fark instead of Digg. |

It's a whole lot easier to be better when you have the budget and production companies of either of those two films. Nobody said this was better, but it's pretty damn impressive considering it came from a few guys nobody has really ever heard of, with hardly any budget at all.
