Enlightenment, if your friend had a Windows 64-bit system, he could have used the 32-bit version of IE rather than install 32-bit Firefox. The 32-bit version of IE is actually the default version available through the Windows Start Menu and if there's an IE icon set up on the desktop. You have to go and pick out the 64-bit version of IE specifically to use it. Adobe is very tardy on this issue, but at the same time the majority of Windows 64-bit users continue to use 32-bit IE or Firefox, so unfortunately it hasn't been a priority for Adobe.
