“I think what is more telling than these ethically questionable business practices is the stand of our Attorneys General and other officials who are supposed to look out for citizens' interests. Combined with our elected officials continuous pandering to corporate interests, I have a hard time expecting this situation to change unless the issue of consumer rights is a real and foremost election issue.

THIS. It's outrageous to think the ISP has any responsibility to protect your computer. All they sell you is access to the internet. The internet isn't some kind of product you buy. By that logic you should also call up your power company and complain they didn't include Norton Antivirus for your computer. I mean both the ISP AND your computer use the electrons provided by the power company so they should be responsible for that unpatched windows xp machine you use for downloading warez and porn right? IdiotsSomething else that bothers me is how much people complain about these supposed mega high prices for internet access. What is it 30-50 tops? My ISP bill is the lowest ***** bill I have. For gaining access to something that can literally change your life and have the complete knowledge of human kind at your finger tips for $30 a month is a goddamn bargain..
Company's state that they have to ship all of the labor jobs overseas in order to stay competitive, but in reality they are only doing it to make a higher profit margin. One would think that the computers that are being made and assembled for pennies on the dollar overseas should make them more affordable here in the US, but that isn't the case because company's see the possibility to raise their overall profit and decide to stick it to the consumer so they can line their pockets with even more cash.Company's couldn't give two ***** about customers these days, it's all about the greed.Anyone remember the last time that they could buy a product and _not_ have to keep the receipt for when the product breaks and they have to take it back to get fixed/replaced? Long gone are the days of quality production, I think quantity production is definately here to stay.!

I call BS too. There's lots of cheap food around..heck, enough pasta to last for days costs under a dollar.?
if people are stupid enough to advertise that they will be out of town for 10 days, then a criminal would be happy to use that kind of information for his benefit. you might as well leave the door unlocked for them. |

Pretty picture. Reminds me that when I was there, the bridge could hardly be seen.
