In the Florida Keys ( Big Pine Key, mostly ) there are about 400 Key Deer. They're tiny, about the size of a big dog and generally unafraid of stuff since they don't have any predators. Oddly, they seem to like cats. I've often seen them in the company of cats and my two kitties ( Karma - Tabby, and Mojo - Black ) are often greeted very warmly by the deer wandering through our yard. They go so far as to lick them a lot. Perhaps more strange, the cats like it and somehow knew the first time they saw them that they weren't dogs, which they regard with great distaste.
